The case cradles my flute, enclosing it like a womb, so that each time I play it, drawing the flute from the case is like a birthing of something new -- the newness of which is reflected in the music. His case included artwork that with each viewing, and each reading of Jim's personal explanation, draws me deeper into the mystery of sound, of frequency, of vibration, and of awe.

" I am the PROUD owner of three of your boxes. I have a wonderful Cedar Flute Case (did have 2 but gave one away to share) and two different size travel boxes. One is made of the Purple Heart and the other in the Zebra wood. Each box is beautiful in it's own special way and each has a special memory or use, if not both! They travel wonderfully - when I purchased the flute case I had just won a flute and didn't know how I was going to get it home on the plane...the flute case and flute made it in one piece and nary a mark on either. (Though I did have to open it at the gate before I could carry it on the plane). The Purple Heart box was given to me by a friend and holds many treasures. The Zebra box again came home with me from a visit to NM and carried a very special old feather from another friend that I worried would not make it on the trip in tack. Your box was another wonderful addition to my collection while serving, for me anyway, a sacred purpose. I have visited the shop many times and I must say that the workmanship, the stories these boxes carry (not only the carvings but the woods themselves), and knowing their creator are something I'll treasure forever. All of your boxes carry the love and heart that went into creating them. I look forward to watching your future endeavor's; like the headboard! THANK YOU! "
Oh, the only problem I have is how to best display them so that all the beauty of each piece can be enjoyed!

" Jim made two cedar chests for my wife and I last year, of which the wonderful cedar scent is still filling the room. He has remarkable way of placing petroglyph style images onto the facings. They are so calming and full of thoughtful depth when seen in the wood grain. I certainly am very pleased and thankful to have such a finely crafted work of useable art. Thanks Jim.
