About Us

Mmmmm ..... there's not much to tell. I'm a retired electrician who has been working and learning how  to work with wood for about 48 years now. After buying our first house, a row-home, my wife and I went about remodeling our small bedroom. Our neighbor George, a little, frail, retired Italian carpenter of 84 years let himself into our home; up the stairs he came. Asking what all the hammering was about. He took the hammer and said, "this is where you need to start and breaks through the wall".....and he did just that. Of course George supervised the entire project then on, teaching me the skills of an old carpenter and of his old school ways. As time went on my friend Jack, a young carpenter and cabinet maker, shared his woodworking skills with me.   And then there was Fred...a much older cabinet maker who taught me to respect the wood...to appreciate what you can make with this material and most of all the patience it takes to create good work.
An old, craftsman, from England taught me to be detailed,
not to waist, care for the tools you use, the joy of making something from wood, to continuously hone my own skills, to be organized, and run a clean shop ....this was my Granddad.
With the encouragement from my wife,  family and the influence of my dear friend and his wife from Taos .... here we are ....... on the internet, opening a webpage ....... and telling you this story.

Enjoy your visit to our shop ... look around.

Thank you for your interests.
